How to build a business on Freelancer.com? – How to earn money online the legit way

There are several ways to earn money online and since internet has helped make the world a global village, no limitations now exist in between an employer and a remote contractor/worker/freelancer, with thousands of miles away.

There are literally thousands of scams and not a day goes by when someone unknown drops an email in your inbox stating “Earn up to $300 per day without any experience!” Now that is lame, but there is one way that you can earn good money online safely.

For this reason, I consider freelancer.com to be one of the world’s largest outsourcing market place with well over 3.4 million registered members earning millions of $$$ monthly. Before you can think about becoming a successful freelancer and earning handsome reputation at freelancer.com, you need to be very diligent in your strategies, attitude, and timings as you do not want to place your entire life on risk.

There are ample of opportunities available online and after the 2007/2008 financial recession, the number of content writing, SEO, website designing/development and software development tasks have increased by manifolds, making online business a lucrative arena for income earning.

First things first, Why freelancer.com?

  • 3.54 Million registered members (As of 20th May 2012)
  • Budgeted projects as low as $30
  • Average project $200
  • Average Project range $30 to 250
  • Hourly Project with budget ranges of your choice
  • Free, Trial, Standard, and Premium Membership plans suiting for your own needs
  • 13 Categories: Websites, IT & Software, Mobile Phones & Computing, Writing & Content, Design, Media & Architecture, Data Entry & Admin, Engineering & Sciences, Product Sourcing & Manufacturing, Sales & Marketing, Business Accounting HR & Legal and Other, etc.
  • Nearly 450 sub categories for all 13 categories.

Honestly speaking, I have come across horrible stories of how people risked their precious time and efforts online just to notice their clients running away with the work, not paying for it. This is a frustrating situation, due to which it is imperative you conduct a good research online and see the sources that allow you to earn online safely, and securely by guaranteeing that you get paid for your work. With all these factors in mind, it is better to become a member at Freelancer.com since this Australian Giant provides you with a secure environment to get guaranteed payments. And if clients still run away without paying, then you are at fault!

There are risks everywhere and you need to minimize them to get payments safely & securely. Know your skills – Are you an excellent writer? Perhaps an outstanding designer? A creative developer? An innovative video editor? Who are you? Know yourself. Get to know what you are good at and look for jobs in that particular field.

Sing up on Freelancer.com

Freelancer.com provides you with a safe way to earn money online. First of all, visit their website, and sign up for a free account. You need an email address, username, and a password to get started. That’s it!

Once you have signed up, you are left with several options as shown below. Do NOT make a mistake of placing a bid the moment you sign up, even though I understand you want to earn money quickly! But don’t rush for it!

Go to Profile, click Edit Profile and fill up your details. I have seen a LOT of Pakistanis, Indians, and Bangladeshis mentioning a FAKE US number, address and country in their profile, in a desperate attempt to win bids. Unless and until you REALLY belong from UK, USA, Canada or Australia, do not make a mistake of changing your country.

This would show your potential clients about how far you can go in lying about your true identity. Once clients know that  you are using a FAKE foreign ID, there would be little or no chances of securing work safely. Fill in your profile. It should be attractive and describe you in around 100 to 200 words. Some points to mention in your profile:

  1. Skills
  2. Education
  3. Experience
  4. Number of years freelancing
  5. Hobbies

The more realistic you are, the higher your chances of winning a bid. Select the skills by going to ….. tab and specifying what skills you are expert at.

Getting the right membership

If you are serious about earning money online (and I mean it damn serious), then seriously consider yourself getting a good membership plan, preferably Standard Membership, otherwise your chances of winning a bid wouldn’t be good enough! The rates and list of fee charges are described in the below screenshot:

It might seem to be expensive, but for someone looking to earn $500 would incur a cost of $25 (Membership Fee) + $25 (Project Fees). Deduction of $50 is reasonable enough given you have earned a net of $450.

Place the bid, send the message and get the work done!

Now is the real time to earn money. With a crowded marketplace of experts with proven track record of experience, how would your profile shine out? Make sure that your profile is complete and you have at least a Standard Membership Plan. Now click Browse and browse for the projects in which you are interested at. The ones selected in your profile would be red colored whereas all others would be black.

Click on any one of the subcategory to open up the list of projects currently in the Open status.  Here is

Study reveals iOS device owners use internet more than the Android users, where do you stand?

Remember I had a post on The Rise of Android and iOS as new superpowers, in which I shared with you all an infographic about how iOS and Android are in the cut throat competition?

Even though the webosphere is hot with the Android/iOS debate as to which one is more popular in various terms, it seems that Google’s Android has crossed iOS in the number of reach and user activation. However, according to a research conducted by a premier ad network company Chitika,  iOS users spend more time on their devices surfing the internet as comapred to their Android counterparts.

Chitika covers roughly 100,000 websites on its ad network and used its extensive reach for conducting a premium survey. Chitika monitored the activity of its sites for complete 24 hours and noticed the iOS device owners taking a big slice of the internet browsing share as compared to the Android device owners.

Even with these results, Android has a nearly 50% slice of the market alongside more than 500,000 daily activations of Android devices, Andu Rubin, the chief at Android claims its company to be far more successful than the closest competitor, iOS. Unfortunately Mr Rubin, your devices are not popular when it comes to mobile browsing. Here are the stats:

  • 68% of the browsing was conducted using iOS device
  • 45% of 68% was using the iPad
  • 27% browsing on the Android

On the other hand, iPhone and iPod cliamed 15% and 10% of the browsing activity respectively. Even though considering the iPhones popularity to be crossing several limits, I was anticipating the iPhone to be the dominant device in browsing. Although I do not own the iPod touch, I am not really in the favor of this device and with a reach of an iPad near me, I would never think of using the iPod touch for internet browsing.

So where is Android now? With all the tablets, devices and a bigger reach than the iPhone, Android is just enjoying a small share of 27% only!

Windows phones and Blackberries were not encountered in the browsing experience.

Bhoja Air Plane Boeing 737 carrying 129 passengers from Karachi to Islamabad near Chaklala Airbase, for how long are we going to witness these events?

Alas! Another story made a headline. Hardly 2 years were passed for a tragic incident taking place on 28th July, 2010 when 152 young passengers on board died when the plane struck Margalla Hills, Islamabad, we come to know another   shocking event that has taken the entire nation by storm, portraying a dismal picture. Another passenger flight, of a merely failed Bhoja Airline, which recently resumed its operation with its 1st ever official flight from Karachi to Islamabad crashed, resulting in all 129 passengers including 9 crew members dead on board.

International report has categorized Air travel to be the SAFEST choice of travelling for the public, but my question to you all is Why most of the accidents take place within Pakistan? For how many times our government would keep on “delivering condolences” to the families of the dead ones? For how long this careless attitude shall be taking away more precious lives?

Is it weather to be blamed or the careless attitude of our air monitoring authorities? Whatever be the reason, I am sure that there has to be a way out of these situations in the long run. Europe and America are dominated by thunderstorms and harsh weather conditions, yet the tragic accidents are far less than those taking place in Pakistan.

I need to know your comments. Let me know how were your feelings.

Smartphones are smart, but that just doesn’t come without a heft price tag. We all love are iPhones, iPods, and touch devices and since they are not cheap, we need to take good care of them.

And when we do take care of them, we go to various extents by having numerous protectors, smart carrying cases and so on an so forth. How about a hammer proof screen protector? Shocking?

Although samrtphones have become smarter than ever, there are yet high chances of our touch devices falling down form heights and witnessing a crack or two on the screen surface. Need not to worry, for there has been s solution derived by the name of Liquipel, which has come up with an invisible film that can be easily applied on any electronic gadget, thereby providing robust waterproof protection. Let us for the sake of argument explain you that you can swim hasslefree with your clothes on, knowing that you got your smartphone trapped inside and without getting worried about the device being broken.

BUFF-Protector

Liquipel has had several conversations with the geniuses at Apple and Samsung to apply a robust solution of protection for the smart devices, however no solid agreement has been seen till date.

Even though the iPhone 4 and 4S got hard casing, far better than its predecessors, its chances of getting easily cracked when dropped from heights, are almost equally the same as of many mobile phones in the market. Moreover, since the glass is hardened that the previous models, you can get your hand cut easily.

The BUFF screen protector has crossed all the expectations of the iPhone owners. The aesthetically designed screen protector not only provides complete protection from dust and scratches reaching to your display, but you also get protection from some of the biggest pressures exerted on the device, i.e., coffee mug and hammers!

Yup! You heard it right! The screen protector also provides protection from hammer and coffee mug blows.

Can’t believe? Have a look at this Youtube video for yourself:

Another premium feature of the BUFF protector is that it provides you with complete peace of mind from the annoying air bubbles popping under the normal cheap screen protectors, that almost seem impossible to get rid of! The BUFF elminates this problem, thanks to its premium silicon make technology!

Priced in between $20 to $30 range, they are something to be grabbed by every smartphone owner who wishes to have ultimate protection for their smartphones.

The new Apple perfume is based upon the scent of brand new Apple products

That fragrance isn’t Guci, Versace or Armani, but it seems that one company has crossed all limits in creating the world’s first ever scent of brand new Apple products.
